I was happy with my vintage Hendersons when I walked into Martin’s workshop looking for a new set of pipes for my Father. After hearing a set of Macbeths I had to order a set for myself as well.
Five years on and I only love my Macbeth pipes more every time I play them. I’ve won many prizes on them in Scotland in the senior piping and always receive complements on my tone.
Martin is professional and easy to work with. The attention to detail and craftsmanship in his pipes cannot be beaten by anyone.  You will not regret purchasing a set and only wish you had done it sooner.

"Martin's chanter is resonant and full, with excellent balance between top and bottom hands. It just gets better with more playing. Martin's dedication to his products of both chanter and drones is so evident in the quality and consistency of his after-care service and attentiveness to detailed feedback."

I would recommend MacBeth and Co. Bagpipes to everyone! Dealing with them was an enjoyable process and they provided both personal and professional service.  The quality of craftsmanship was absolutely sensational. Not just in the tone of the Pipes, but the aesthetic value as well. I made a special request for engraving in silver, and it turned out even better than I had hoped. I refuse to go through anyone else. These pipes are an absolute delight to play.

Thank you,

I have known martin for some time now and have had the honour of watching him work- he is a true artisan in every sense.

His passion for bagpipes and expert craftsmanship is expressed in the look and sound of each of his instruments. From timber selection through to finish, every detail is as close to perfection as is humanly possible.

The instruments have a full rich sound with beautiful tenor harmonics and seamless bass-tenor blend which will complement and enhance any chanter- sure to turn every solo judges head!

These days you can buy mass produced instruments that will work fine and sound ok, but for a truly exceptional instrument which carries the craftsman’s heart, soul and passion with a sound which reflects that, look no further than Macbeth and co bagpipes.

I recently purchased a new blackwood chanter for myself from Macbeth and Co Bagpipes.  The craftsmanship that has been displayed in this piece is astounding. Also the sound produced by the chanter is second to none.  Service and advice was quick and great, a pleasure to deal with.  I will definitely be doing business with them again.

I've known Martin for a good few years now. As a friend, and as the maker of my pipes from the previous company he worked for. Trustworthy doesn't even describe how I feel about his craftsmanship. When he informed me of his new venture of MacBeth and Co Bagpipes I said to him I couldn't wait to place another order. After sending him a picture of the full silver practise chanter design I was after and agreeing on an amazing price, he told me he had started to work. I was in shock when Mr Postie left a nice wee package in such a prompt time scale. I love it! I will not go anywhere else. Extremely highly recommend to all who cherish quality.

I purchased a silver mounted set of pipes and a long wooden practice chanter for a couple of my pupils from MacBeth and Co Bagpipes . I have to say they the quality and workmanship is some of the best I have ever seen and the sound quality is first class. Keep up the good work, I will certainly be recommending MacBeth and Co Bagpipes in the future .    Pat Murphy ( ex Royal Scots Dragoon Guards ) and tutor at Brisbane Boys College

The sound and craftsmanship of these pipes are second to none. As a professional musician who regularly plays with the accompaniment of concert bands and various other ensembles, having an instrument with excellent tonal qualities and tuning is of paramount importance. The set of pipes made for me by Martin definitely doesn't disappoint in this regard. He was very helpful throughout the entire ordering process for my full silver set. I can honestly say that I now have the set of bagpipes I plan on keeping and using for life.

The look and feel of the pipes is absolutely marvellous! My piping teacher and I both think they are an absolute master piece. We like the thoroughness of the pipes and the very well done engravings.  A perfect job you did. I am still more and more falling in love with this magnificent piece of art.I wanted a set of pipes with drones of prominent presence which I miss when listening to other pipes sometimes. And here I have them to the fullest. What a wonderful sound. Great craftsmanship and perfect musical sound.Knowing this I will order my future ten pipes also from you :-)
